A 1922 classic named for the Rudolph Valentino bullfighter film — fruity, smoky, and unexpected.
Ingredients
- ¾ oz Scotch
- ¾ oz Cherry Heering
- ¾ oz Sweet Vermouth
- ¾ oz fresh Orange juice
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice.
- Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds.
- Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
- Garnish with an orange twist or a cherry.
Tips
- Equal parts is the canonical recipe — adjust scotch up slightly for more backbone.
- Cherry Heering is essential; generic cherry liqueur is too sweet.
