Prohibition-era cocktail first credited in print to Frank Meier of the Ritz Paris in the 1929 Cocktails de Paris. A competing 1929 newspaper account credits American socialite Margaret 'Molly' Brown; both place the drink in Paris.

A Prohibition-era gin sour sweetened with honey — smooth and golden.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Gin
  • ¾ oz fresh Lemon juice
  • ¾ oz Honey Syrup

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds.
  3. Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
  4. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Tips

  • Make honey syrup by mixing equal parts honey and warm water.
  • The name is 1920s slang for "the best."
